Awantipora Police arrests 03 drug peddlers; Contraband substances and cash recovered

Awantipora, 11 March: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police have arrested 03 drug peddlers from Pampore area and recovered contraband substances and cash from their possession.

During vehicular checking at naka point Kadlabal Pampore , Police party of Police Station Pampore headed by SHO PS Pampore Inspector Naieem Rashid under the supervision SDPO Pampore apprehended 03 drug peddlers identified as:

The arrested persons were travelling in a vehicle swift bearing registration number JK01AU-2964 which was signalled to stop and during search, officers were able to recover 290 grams of Charas like substance and cash ₹97,500 (proceeds of narcotic crime) from their possession.

All the arrested drug peddlers have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Vehicle used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.

Case FIR Number 29/ 2025 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Pampore.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
