Kapil Mattoo Inspires Students at Birla Open Minds International School with Storytelling Masterclass

Pulwama: Birla Open Minds International School, Pampore, witnessed an exciting day of cinematic learning as acclaimed filmmaker Kapil Mattoo engaged students in an exclusive storytelling masterclass. Known for his work on Tanaav (web series), Afwaah, With Luv… Tumhaara, 404: Error Not Found, Haaput, and more, Mattoo shared his invaluable insights into the world of filmmaking, storytelling, and creative direction.

The session, filled with engaging discussions, explored the power of narratives, the impact of storytelling in cinema, and the evolving role of OTT platforms. Students had the unique opportunity to interact with Mattoo, gaining behind-the-scenes knowledge and understanding the nuances of visual storytelling.

In a student-hosted podcast, Mattoo answered a series of thought-provoking questions about his creative process, challenges in filmmaking, and advice for young storytellers. The session also featured a fun rapid-fire round, giving students a glimpse into his inspirations and cinematic influences.

Speaking on the occasion, Saim Mir from Birla Management highlighted the importance of industry exposure for students, stating, “At Birla Open Minds, we believe in experiential learning. Bringing industry leaders like Kapil Mattoo to interact with our students helps them understand real-world applications of creativity and storytelling. This session has truly broadened their perspectives.”

School Principal Dr. Mehnaz Rehman emphasized the impact of storytelling in education and beyond, adding, “Storytelling is a powerful tool, not just in cinema but in every aspect of life. Kapil Mattoo’s interaction with our students has been incredibly inspiring, encouraging them to think critically and creatively. It was an unforgettable learning experience.”

The event reinforced Birla Open Minds International School’s commitment to fostering creativity and innovation, ensuring students receive exposure to diverse career paths and industry experts.
