11 JCB among 17 vehicles seized for illegal mining in Kulgam: Police

No leniency will be provided to anyone who are involved in this practice, says official

Kulgam, Dec 15: In a resolute effort to curb illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals, Kulgam police along with geology mining seized 17 vehicles In a major crackdown in south kashmiri’s Kulgam district.

An official told that Kulgam Police along with officers of geology and mining department in its continuous drive and action against illegal mining, extraction and transporting of sand, Gravel, Boulders and other minerals from nallahs illegally especially in river Veshaw, and seized 17 vehicles including 11 JCB Machine, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of Minerals.

Community members are requested to inform nearby police unit or Dial 112 regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighborhood so that timely action against the culprits will be taken.
