Free Medical Camp, Skill Development Courses launched at KVK Pulwama

Pulwama: As part of a continuous outreach initiative, a day-long medical camp was organized jointly by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)/Extension Training Centre (ETC) Pulwama and the 64th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) at the KVK/ETC Pulwama campus. The event was inaugurated by Shri Rajeev Bhardwaj, Commandant of the 64th Battalion BSF, Prof. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo, Head of KVK/ETC Pulwama and Group Captain Indian Airforce, NK Dubey.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 1,500 villagers, including senior citizens, children, women, men, and students from nearby schools. A team of specialized doctors from both the BSF and the Health Department conducted free medical check-ups, distributed medicines, and provided awareness sessions on contagious and lifestyle diseases.

Adding further significance to the event, two skill-based courses—“Basic Computer Course” and “Customer Relationship Management Course”— to be conducted at KVK Pulwama were also inaugurated during the event. , These courses aim to enhance the skillsets and entrepreneurial capabilities of the local youth.

A vibrant cultural program was also organized as part of the event. Students from KVK/ETC Pulwama, schools from nearby villages, and personnel from the BSF presented various performances, making the occasion even more memorable.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Rajeev Bhardwaj emphasized the importance of such initiatives, highlighting their role in empowering youth with essential skills and improving community welfare. He commended KVK/ETC Pulwama for its proactive efforts in organizing youth-centric and need-based programs.

In his concluding remarks, Prof. Javeed Ahmad Mugloo expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and participants for their presence. He also provided a detailed overview of the various initiatives undertaken by KVK/ETC Pulwama to assist the unemployed youth of the district in generating sustainable livelihoods.
