Awantipora, July 10: Police in collaboration with Excise Department, Agriculture Department and Revenue department launches joint anti-Cannabis drive and destroyed Wild Cannabis in Jurisdiction of Police District Awantipora.
A Police Party headed by Incharge Police Post Reshipora under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora alongwith officers of Excise, Revenue and Agriculture Departments launched a special drive against cannabis and destroyed Wild Cannabis spread over approximately 10 Kanals along the banks of River Jhelum in Reshipora. The operation witnessed the active involvement of civil society members who worked together to clear substantial patches of wild cannabis from the riverbanks.
Police reiterate its firm commitment towards a drug-free society and appeals to the public to cooperate in this noble mission. Citizens are urged to share information about individuals or landowners involved in illegal cultivation of cannabis or poppy, so that strict legal action can be taken against them.
