Ganderbal, Press Release: The Faculty of Forestry at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-K), Benhama, Ganderbal, in collaboration with Reviva Dental, Habak Naseembagh, organized a SKUAST Forestry Faculty Hosts Free Dental Awareness and Check-Up Camp in Collaboration with Reviva Dental on Thursday as part of the National Dental Hygiene Month celebrations.
The event was presided over by Prof. Parveiz Ahmad Khan, Senior Faculty Member, who inaugurated the camp and highlighted the importance of dental health awareness in maintaining overall well-being. Prof. Khan stressed the need for proactive oral care and regular dental check-ups to prevent diseases and promote hygiene among students and staff.
Several senior faculty members, including Prof. Naseem Geelani and Prof. Iqhlaq Ahmad Wani, also graced the occasion and appreciated the initiative for integrating health and technology in academic settings.
The event featured a series of expert-led presentations. Dr. Nouman Rashid, Maxillofacial Surgeon, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation on “Facial Trauma – Prevention and First Aid Measures”, discussing pre-hospitalization management of accident victims with facial injuries. This was followed by Dr. Zeenat Shah, Oral Pathologist, who gave an insightful presentation on “Prevention and Screening of Oral Cancer”, emphasizing the importance of early detection and lifestyle modification.

A highlight of the camp was the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, used for the first time in Kashmir to identify dental diseases.
In the afternoon session, a large number of students, faculty members, and university employees availed themselves of the free oral check-up services provided by the Reviva Dental team.
The organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and collaborators for making the event a success and reaffirmed SKUAST-K’s commitment to promoting health awareness alongside academic excellence.
