Pulwama: Residents of Lurgam Aripal in Pulwama district are facing a serious public health and sanitation crisis due to the deplorable condition of the local dumping shed, which has remained unattended for months.

According to local residents, the dumping shed has been overflowing with garbage, creating an unhygienic environment and posing severe health risks to the locals.

Residents said they have repeatedly approached concerned officials, including the Tehsildar and other senior authorities, requesting immediate cleanup and proper maintenance of the dumping site. “Despite continuous follow-ups for nearly a year since 2024, no concrete action has been taken so far,” they said.

“The garbage is clearly visible piling up in and around the shed, and the foul smell and spread of waste are making daily life unbearable,” said a local resident, expressing concern over the potential outbreak of diseases.

The locals has now made an urgent appeal to the concerned authorities to take immediate notice of the issue and ensure prompt and thorough cleaning of the dumping shed. Residents have warned that continued negligence could lead to serious health emergencies in the area.
