Kulgam, January 11, 2026: Kulgam Police while continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society and the back to back actions against the drug peddlers are being taken out in the district with the aim of bringing drug peddling to the zero level .
In this regard; Police party of police station Qazigund during patrolling spotted a suspicious person at *Nassu Badragund* near railway bridge, who on seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot. However, he was chased and apprehended tactfully by the alert police party. After his personal search, officers present were able to recover *08 gram of Brown Sugar* like contraband substance from his possession. His identity has been ascertained as:- *Azad Ahmad Naikoo S/O Sanaullah Naikoo R/O Nassu Badragund*.
Regarding the incident, case with FIR No. 06/2026 U/S 8/21 of NDPS Act stands registered at *Police Station Qazigund* and investigation is in progress.
