Anantnag: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Anantnag, Rakesh Koul, on Monday accused the Congress party of deliberately creating an unnecessary controversy over the term “G Ram G” to give it a communal colour.
Addressing a press conference in Anantnag, Rakesh Koul, accompanied by BJP District Convener Nisar Ahmad, Co-Convener Abrar Ahmad Khan, and Kisan Morcha District President Anantnag, Lufaiq Ahmad Dar, clarified that “G Ram G” is not a communal name but merely an abbreviated term. He alleged that the Congress is intentionally misrepresenting the issue to create confusion among the people.
The BJP leaders said such controversies are being raised to divert public attention from pressing issues affecting the region. They further alleged that several irregularities have surfaced in the implementation of the MGNREGA scheme, including the raising of bills in the names of deceased persons.
The leaders demanded a thorough probe into the alleged irregularities and urged the administration to ensure transparency and accountability in the execution of welfare schemes. They also appealed to political parties to refrain from creating baseless controversies and instead focus on genuine public concerns.
