Ganderbal, June 14: In a significant push towards strengthening healthcare and infrastructure in Wangath village of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, MLA Kangan Mian Mehar Ali on Sunday announced the revival of a decade-old health project and sanctioned road connectivity for a newly established habitation in Upper Wangath.

The announcements were made during a public darbar, where residents raised several long-pending developmental issues and sought government intervention for their early resolution.

Addressing the gathering,MLA Mehar Ali said the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) at Wangath, whose construction was initiated nearly a decade ago but later stalled, has been revived and is expected to witness progress in the coming months.

“The health centre is a vital project for the people of Wangath and adjoining areas. Its completion will significantly improve access to healthcare services and reduce the difficulties faced by residents,” the MLA said.

In another major announcement, he said road connectivity would be provided to a newly developed habitation in Upper Wangath, fulfilling a long-pending demand of local residents who had been facing accessibility issues.

MLA Mehar Ali assured the gathering that all genuine developmental concerns raised during the public interaction would be taken up with the concerned departments and pursued on priority.

The announcements were widely welcomed by residents, who termed the revival of the health project a landmark step for the area.

“We have been waiting for the completion of the health centre for years. The revival of the project has renewed our hopes and we expect work to begin soon,” a local resident told.

Locals said the proposed road connectivity for Upper Wangath would not only improve transportation but also contribute to the socio-economic development of the area.

The revival of the decade-old healthcare project and the fresh infrastructure initiatives are expected to provide a major boost to development in Wangath and its adjoining villages, residents said.
