KMCH Sempora expands patient-centric services with inauguration of Café, Optical Unit

Srinagar, June 25, 2026: Aiming to provide affordable dining and accessible eye-care services under one roof, Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), Sempora, on Thursday inaugurated a new café and optical unit within its campus.

The two vital facilities were inaugurated by Managing Director KMCH, Tausif Ahmad, and Executive Director KMCH, Insha Qazi, in the presence of Principal KMCH Prof. Nazir Ahmad Khan, heads of departments, faculty members, doctors, administrative staff and staff members.

As part of the initiative, Ritual Express Café opened its branch at the hospital premises. The café offers an economical menu catering to the needs of patients, attendants and hospital staff. The menu includes tea, butter toast, biryani, fried rice, fresh juices, shakes, coffee, and a variety of other food items prepared under hygienic conditions.

Speaking on the occasion, the proprietor of Ritual Express, said that the café aims to provide quality food at affordable prices while maintaining high standards of hygiene and service. He emphasized that proper nutrition plays an important role in overall health and well-being.

The Managing Director and Executive Director also inaugurated a new branch of Bonton Optics, one of Kashmir’s leading optical companies. Established in 1970, Bonton Optics has earned a reputation for delivering quality eye-care solutions and premium eyewear products across the Valley. With the launch of its new outlet at KMCH, the company aims to make quality vision accessible to all.

The outlet offers a comprehensive range of eyewear products, including premium lenses from internationally renowned brands such as Zeiss and Crizal, contact lenses, designer frames, sunglasses, and advanced eye-testing facilities. Bonton Optics also provides hearing-care solutions through hearing aids from leading global manufacturers.

Speaking on the occasion, the proprietors of Bonton Optics reaffirmed their commitment to delivering world-class optical services and announced plans for further expansion across Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir, continuing a legacy of excellence and customer trust built over more than five decades.

Managing Director KMCH, Tausif Ahmad, said that the inauguration of the café and optical unit reflects the institution’s continuous efforts to improve patient care and convenience through value-added services.

He stated that while the café will provide affordable, hygienic, and nutritious food to patients, attendants, and staff, the optical unit will ensure easy access to quality eye-care products and services under one roof.

He added that KMCH remains committed to creating a patient-friendly healthcare environment by introducing facilities that enhance comfort, accessibility, and overall healthcare experience.
