Div Com Kashmir inspects preparations for Independence Day Celebrations at Bakshi Stadium

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 11: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, today visited Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, to inspect the ongoing preparations for the Independence Day celebrations at the venue.

During the inspection, the Divisional Commissioner took stock of various arrangements, including seating arrangements, functioning of the Public Address System, overhead covering of the stands and adherence to protocol during the signing of the National Song followed by the National Anthem.

The Div Com directed the concerned officers to ensure complete preparedness of contingents from schools, colleges and the Sports Council, besides ensuring their enthusiastic participation in the ceremonial proceedings.

In view of the possibility of rainfall, the Divisional Commissioner directed the Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), to ensure that an effective dewatering mechanism is put in place and that the Fire & Emergency dewatering pump remains operational at the venue.

He further directed the concerned agencies to ensure proper floral decoration of the podium and operational readiness of all seven LED screens installed at the stadium.

The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon all concerned departments to maintain close coordination and ensure that all arrangements are completed well in advance for the smooth and successful conduct of the Independence Day celebrations.

The Div Com was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner SMC, ADC Srinagar, Joint Director Information and senior officers from various departments, including R&B, PHE, School Education, Higher Education, Fire & Emergency, Hospitality & Protocol, KPDCL, UEED, YSS and other concerned departments.

Besides, IGP Kashmir and other senior officers of Police & Security agencies were also present on the occasion.
