DC Ganderbal Reviews Arrangements for Eid-ul-Milad-Un-Nabi (SAW)

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 19: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting to review the preparations and arrangements for the smooth and peaceful observance of Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) across the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the arrangements being put in place at all major shrines and religious places where celebrations and congregational gatherings are scheduled to be held, with particular focus on security, traffic management, road connectivity, drinking water, healthcare, power supply, sanitation and other essential facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure that adequate arrangements are put in place at each identified shrine and venue well in advance so that devotees and the general public do not face any inconvenience during the celebrations.

The Health Department was directed to ensure deployment of medical teams, ambulances and essential medicines at identified locations, while the Power Development Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply and keep necessary backup arrangements in readiness.

The R&B authorities were directed to ensure proper condition of roads leading to the shrines and congregation points and undertake necessary repairs wherever required. The Jal Shakti authorities were asked to ensure adequate and uninterrupted drinking water supply at all identified venues.

The Deputy Commissioner also stressed upon proper cleanliness, sanitation and waste management around shrines, mosques and other congregation points, directing the concerned agencies to ensure that all locations are kept clean before, during and after the celebrations.

Reviewing traffic arrangements, the ARTO and Traffic Police were directed to formulate an effective traffic management plan, regulate vehicular movement and ensure smooth movement of devotees, particularly at locations expected to witness large gatherings.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed all concerned officers to undertake advance field inspections of the identified shrines and venues and ensure completion of all arrangements within the stipulated timelines. He stressed upon close coordination among all departments and prompt response to any requirement during the celebrations.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the District Administration to ensure safe, peaceful and well-organised Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) celebrations across the district and directed all stakeholders to work in close coordination for the convenience and welfare of devotees.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal, Executive Engineers R&B Ganderbal and Kangan, Executive Engineer PDD, officers from Jal Shakti, ARTO, Traffic Police and other concerned officers.
