Ganderbal: In a major public health concern, the Jal Shakti (PHE) Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal/Srinagar has reported alarming results following a random sampling and testing of spring water across Ganderbal district. A staggering 37 out of 40 collected water samples were found to be bacteriologically positive, rendering them unsafe for human consumption.
As a precautionary measure, authorities have issued a public advisory, urging residents of District Ganderbal and rural areas of Srinagar, where spring water is frequently used for drinking, to avoid its consumption. Instead, the public is advised to rely solely on tap water until further notice.
For individuals who are unable to access tap water and must use spring water, officials have emphasized the importance of boiling the water thoroughly before consumption to reduce health risks.
