Tral, May 25: The people living along the roadside of Nahir-Khasipora, and Lari Mohalla of Chatrogam are reeling under water crisis, leaving them to suffer a lot in their day-to-day lives.

Locals claim that the supply of water in these areas has continued to be disrupted for several months, and they have no option but to move to other places in search of potable water. They said that the issue has been raised repeatedly with the concerned authorities, with even repeated reminders to the Jal Shakti Department, yet no specific action has been initiated to revive the supply.

“We have been suffering for months. We have complained several times to the officials, but nothing has been done till now,” said a resident. Many others spoke in the same vein, feeling resentful at the lack of response and accountability.

One of the residents said that the water supply had been restored for a few weeks last time, but was later disrupted again.

The residents have now moved an appeal to the Jal Shakti Department to immediately send a team to survey the ground and ensure restoration of water supply at the earliest.
