Anantnag, 05 June 2025: In a heartfelt gesture of gratitude and solidarity, M3M Foundation, in collaboration with the Indian Army’s 3 Rashtriya Rifles Battalion (Chinar Corps), successfully organized the Gujjar–Bakarwal Mela at Aishmuqam, Anantnag. The event was part of the ‘AABHAR’ initiative—a tribute to the selfless Amarsevaks (Amarnath Yatra helpers), particularly from the Gujjar–Bakarwal tribal community, who play a vital but often unsung role in one of India’s most revered pilgrimages.

Dr. Payal Kanodia, Chairperson & Trustee M3M Foundation, expressed on the occasion, “Under our initiative ‘AABHAR’, we salute the courage, spirit, and sacrifice of Amarnath Yatra helpers. Our collaboration with the Indian Army is a step toward empowering the communities who are the unsung heroes of this sacred journey.”

The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 500 members of tribal communities across Anantnag district and extended relief support to nearly 350 underprivileged families. As part of the outreach, essential aid kits—including tarpaulins, solar lights, blankets, and utility bags—were distributed to support these resilient workers who brave extreme conditions each year. A medical camp was also set up, offering vital healthcare services, along with refreshments for all attendees.

Major General Dhananjay Joshi, GOC, Forever in Operations Division (Dras), remarked, “Digital literacy is the foundation of tomorrow’s empowered citizen. In these remote and challenging terrains, initiatives like the one led by M3M Foundation, in collaboration with the Indian Army, are nothing short of transformational. Together, we are not just educating—we are shaping confident, future-ready minds who will go on to serve the nation with pride”.

Representing M3M Foundation at the event was Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, Managing Trustee whose presence underscored the Foundation’s continued commitment to inclusive development and nation-building through service. He acknowledged the resilience and humility of the Gujjar–Bakarwal community and reiterated the Foundation’s dedication to supporting those who serve from behind the scenes.

The event was graced by senior dignitaries, including Maj Gen Dhananjay Joshi, VSM, Javid Iqbal Matoo, IPS, DIG South Kashmir, and Shri Sandeep Bali, ADC Anantnag, reflecting the deep synergy between civil and military stakeholders in fostering trust, unity, and development in the region.

Through ‘AABHAR’, M3M Foundation reaffirms its commitment to the ethos of Sadbhavana—promoting peace, gratitude, and grassroots empowerment in underserved geographies, and honouring the spirit of service and sacrifice that truly binds our nation.
