Jammu, June 09: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir spokesman Altaf Thakur has warmly welcomed the Central Government’s approval of Rs 25 crore as additional compensation for 2,060 homes damaged by Pakistani shelling in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their “decisive and compassionate leadership” that continues to prioritise the welfare of the border population.

Calling the financial aid a “lifeline” for affected families, Thakur said the move reflects the Centre’s deep sensitivity to the hardships endured by residents of forward areas.

“This generous relief package once again proves that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi Ji and Home Minister Amit Shah Ji, the concerns of border communities are not only acknowledged but acted upon swiftly and effectively,” Thakur said in an official statement.

He further noted that the compensation will go a long way in helping the affected families rebuild their homes and lives with dignity. “This isn’t just about monetary aid — it’s about restoring hope and assuring our border residents that the nation stands with them in every challenge,” he added.
