Ganderbal, July 12: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Saturday organized a vibrant youth convention at its district headquarters in Beehama, Ganderbal. The convention marked a significant occasion as Advocate Usman Yaqoob formally took charge as the new District Youth President of the party.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout of enthusiastic youth workers, party members, and local supporters who gathered in large numbers to participate in the convention. The atmosphere was charged with energy and optimism, reflecting a strong sense of unity and purpose among the party’s youth cadre.
Presiding over the event as the chief guest, Provincial President Mushtaq Ahmad Mir lauded the leadership qualities of Usman Yaqoob, describing him as a dedicated, educated, and visionary young leader who is expected to inject fresh energy into the party’s youth wing in the district. “Usman’s appointment is a testament to the National Conference’s commitment to empowering youth and preparing them for greater responsibilities,” Mir said in his address.
During the convention, a traditional Dastaarbandi ceremony was held to symbolically honour Usman Yaqoob’s elevation to his new role. The gesture was met with loud applause and cheers from the crowd, underscoring the widespread support for his leadership.
In his maiden address after assuming the role, Advocate Usman Yaqoob expressed gratitude to the party leadership, especially the top brass of the National Conference, for reposing their faith in him. He assured the gathering of his commitment to working tirelessly for the welfare, empowerment, and representation of the youth of Ganderbal. “I will strive to be a bridge between the youth and the party, and ensure that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed,” he said.
Several speakers, including local youth leaders and senior party functionaries, also took the stage to congratulate Usman and reaffirm their resolve to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
The convention concluded with a renewed pledge among participants to bolster the National Conference’s outreach and engagement with the younger generation, which remains a crucial force in the region’s political landscape.
