Awantipora, August 11: In a significant step toward infrastructure development in South Kashmir, a mega sanitary and marble facility — RJ Sanitary & Marble House — was inaugurated today in Awantipora, adjacent to National Highway 44. The opening ceremony began with a prayer session, attended by local business leaders, dignitaries, and others.
This integrated business unit is the brainchild of Sheikh Najm-us-Saqib, a local entrepreneur who transformed his childhood passion into a thriving enterprise. Starting in 2015 with a small shop, Najm-us-Saqib has now emerged as a prominent figure in the region’s business landscape.
The newly launched complex spans over 6,000 square feet and houses leading brands such as AGL, CERA, LIVEPURE, GLEN, SUPREME PPR, and ECOPLUS, offering a wide range of sanitary ware, bath ware, and kitchen solutions under one roof.
The facility is designed not only to serve individual customers but also to cater to commercial clients, offering virtual design tools that allow buyers to preview products before purchase — a first in the area.
Speaking at the event, Najm-us-Saqib emphasized that the aim of this venture goes beyond personal success. “This project has already provided direct employment to 20–25 individuals and is indirectly benefiting over 100 others,” he said.
He also encouraged the youth to focus on skill development and entrepreneurship rather than solely relying on government jobs. “Unemployment can lead to mental stress. It’s time we take initiative and create respectable employment opportunities for ourselves and others,” he advised.
Najm-us-Saqib described the new facility as a “historic investment” that will play a key role in transforming the region’s commercial and infrastructural landscape.
