Srinagar: As part of ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between law enforcing agencies and the local community, IRP-23rd Battalion organized an awareness programme on the Three New Criminal Laws at Government Higher Secondary School, Lethpora, on 11.09.2025 under the broad umbrella of the Civic Action Program. This community-oriented initiative was conducted under the direct supervision of Sh Bakar Samoon IPS SSP Commandant IRP-23rd Battalion, with active participation by master trainers of IRP-23rd Battalion and Shri Syed Umar (PO) from prosecution department.

The main objective was to educate school children about the newly enacted legal provisions-Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam-which have come into force as part of India’s modern justice reforms. Trainers presented the key features through Power point presentations of these laws, emphasizing their role in promoting justice, safeguarding victims’ rights, and ensuring a more efficient legal process. Participants were encouraged to ask questions and engage actively to enhance their understanding.
