Kulgam Police Organizes “Run for Unity” on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Kulgam, October 31: As part of the nationwide celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, commemorating the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Kulgam Police organized a grand “Run for Unity” event in the jurisdiction of Qazigund on 31st October 2025.

The event was jointly flagged off on the National Highway (NHW) from Chaimulla to Navayug Tunnel by Shri Javid Iqbal Mattoo, IPS, DIG South Kashmir Range, Brigadier Sudhir Kumar Singh, VSM,Commander 2 Sector RR, Shri Anayat Ali Choudhary, IPS, SSP Kulgam, and Shri Parvez Rasool Dar, former Indian cricketer.

A large number of participants, including youth, women, school children, and members of civil society, took part in the run with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The event also featured colourful cultural performances highlighting the themes of unity, peace, and national integration.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Javid Iqbal Mattoo, IPS, DIG South Kashmir Range, appreciated Kulgam Police for organizing the event and said that “The Run for Unity reflected the collective resolve of the people of Kulgam to uphold the ideals of peace, harmony, and brotherhood as envisioned by the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.”

The event concluded with the pledge to preserve and strengthen the unity and integrity of the nation.
