Tral, Nov 14: A two-day National Seminar on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 started on November 13 and concluded today at Government Degree College (GDC) Tral. The College Principal, Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, supervised the event, which saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and invited speakers.
On the first day, Prof. Shakil A. Romshoo, Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), attended as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, he discussed the transformative vision of NEP 2020. He highlighted the importance of skill-based education, multidisciplinary learning, and the opportunities and challenges in the changing education system. He urged students and educators to embrace these reforms as a way to enhance global competitiveness and promote overall development.
The second day of the seminar had Prof. Reshmi Qazi as the resource person. Her session addressed key aspects of NEP 2020, focusing on women’s rights and gender equity in education. She emphasized how the policy empowers women through equal access, inclusivity, and leadership roles in academic settings.
While speaking to the media, Principal of the college, Prof. Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat said that the purpose of this program was to provide awareness about the National Education Policy 2020, so that the participants, after becoming informed here, can carry this message forward.
