PRESS RELEASE
Tral: Apni Party leader, State Secretary, Spokesperson, and DDC Member from Tral, Dr. Singh, today criticised the demand raised for introducing electric buses (E-Buses) in Tral during the ongoing Assembly session by MLA Tral.He termed the demand as misplaced and against the livelihood interests of local youth.
Dr. Singh said that hundreds of young people in Tral are directly dependent on the transport sector and have availed loans from various banks to sustain their businesses. “Any demand that adversely affects the livelihood of the youth of Tral is unacceptable,” he asserted.
Highlighting the real challenges faced by the people, Dr. Singh said that critical issues such as education, healthcare, tourism development, power supply, and the acute water crisis deserve immediate attention. He added that unemployment has reached alarming levels in Tral, with not a single industrial unit currently operational, making unemployment the most pressing concern of the region.
“I hope the Hon’ble MLA sahib will raise and insist on issues of real public importance rather than pitching for E-Buses,” Dr. Singh remarked.
He further pointed out that the government has already failed to maintain the existing E-Buses, many of which have been lying in workshops for months due to lack of financial support. “The E-Bus project has already proved to be a failure in terms of revenue generation and sustainability,” he added.
Dr. Singh reiterated that development policies must be people-centric and should protect employment opportunities, especially for the youth who are already struggling due to rising unemployment.
