Awantipora, April 2: As part of its internationalisation efforts, the Office of International Affairs at the Islamic University of Science and Technology Awantipora hospted student ambassador from the Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd University (KFUPM). The KFUPM delegate interacted with the graduating students and informed about the fully-funded scholarships and the procedures to apply at the university.
The session was presided over by Dean Academic Affairs IUST Prof. Ayaz Hassan Moon who congratulated the office for this session during the times when such international endeavours were part of the academic growth and development. He underlined the strength of internalisation of higher education under the National Educational Policy (NEP).
On this occasion, Aaqib Ali student ambassador from KFUPM spoke at length about the facilities and opportunities at the university. The primary objective of the event was to apprise students about the fully-funded scholarships that KFUPM offers, the application procedures, and foster collaborative initiatives. KFUPM is a top global engineering university and is ranked as the top university in the Middle East and Africa.
Earlier Dean Students Dr Asifa Baba, presented the introductory remarks, while Dean Outreach Dr Ruheela Hassan proposed the vote of thanks. The session was coordnated by the Incharge International Affairs Dr Monisa Qadiri, who also delivered the welcome address.
The session was attended by students from different departments who engaged in a vibrant interactive session. The proceedings of the program were conducted by Nazakat Aslam, a journalism student at the university.
