According to an official notice issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate, the mock drill will take place at 2:30 PM at Government Degree College Ganderbal. Later in the evening, a blackout exercise will be conducted across the district from 8:00 PM to 8:10 PM.

The administration stated that the exercise aims to enhance public awareness, improve response coordination, and strengthen safety measures in the event of emergencies. Authorities emphasized that this is only a preparedness drill and not a real emergency.

Residents have been urged to remain calm during the drill and cooperate fully with Civil Defence personnel, police, and volunteers. The public is also advised not to spread rumors or misinformation and to avoid obstructing emergency services.

During the blackout period, citizens are instructed to switch off all lights, including backup power sources, and ensure that no light escapes from homes or buildings. Movement should be minimized, and the use of flashlights or vehicle headlights should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

Officials have also advised parents to guide children during the exercise and ensure calm behavior. Shopkeepers, institutions, and commercial establishments have been asked to strictly adhere to blackout protocols.

The district administration reiterated that public cooperation is crucial for the success of the initiative and has provided contact numbers for assistance and clarification.
