Tral, May 23: Like other parts of the Kashmir Valley, the Urs of Shah Hamdan (RA) was observed with great religious devotion and enthusiasm in Tral area of South Kashmir on Saturday.
A grand congregation was held at Khankah Faiz Panah Tral, where devotees from different parts of the Valley gathered to participate in Shab Khawani and Durood-o-Azkar.
Religious scholars and clerics highlighted the scholarly, spiritual, and Islamic contributions of Hazrat Shah Hamdan (RA), popularly known as Ameer-e-Kabeer.
Addressing the gathering, the scholars said that Shah Hamdan (RA) played a pivotal role in spreading the teachings of Islam in Kashmir and also contributed towards promoting crafts, handicrafts, and economic activities in the region.
During the Urs celebrations, the holy relics were displayed to devotees after Fajr, Zuhr, and Asr prayers. The atmosphere at the shrine remained spiritually charged as people offered prayers and participated in religious gatherings throughout the day.
Meanwhile, the sub district administration and Waqf Board had put in place elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Urs.
