General Review Meeting of Shopian Forest Division Held at Srinagar

Srinagar, Press Release: A review meeting of the Shopian Forest Division was convened today at Srinagar under the chairmanship of the Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF), Kashmir. The meeting focused on strengthening forest protection, boundary management, and eco‑development initiatives in the division.

Block Officers were directed to lodge FIRs in case of any damage to BPs. Monthly beat inspections will be mandatory, and registers at the Forest Control Room will be maintained in the prescribed format. The Chair directed the Officers to prepare an immediate action plan against encroachments.

The meeting emphasized strengthening eco‑development activities. The Chair stressed that accountability and timely action are essential for safeguarding forest resources. The directives aim to enhance transparency, strengthen enforcement, and promote sustainable forest management in Shopian Division.

The Chair also directed the Officers to ensure that no illegal sawmill is operational in the Division. The meeting was attended by DFO Shopian, Deputy Director FPF Shopian, TO to CCF Kashmir, Range Officers and Assistant Directors of Shopian Forest Division among other field functionaries.
