Srinagar, Aug 5: Kashmir Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), Sempora, Srinagar, on Wednesday organised a walkthrough of its Departments of Dentistry and Physiotherapy, showcasing the upgraded facilities and advanced healthcare services available to patients.
The walkthrough reflected the institution’s commitment to providing quality, evidence-based, affordable, and patient-centric healthcare. It was attended by Managing Director KMCH Tausif Ahmad, Executive Director Insha Qazi, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nazir Ahmad Khan, Medical Superintendent Dr. Syed Mubashir, HoD Dentistry and Consultant in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics Dr. Syed Manzoor-ul-Haq Bukhari, Senior Physiotherapist and Incharge Department of Physiotherapy KMCH, Dr. Showkat Maqbool, heads of various departments, faculty members, doctors of the concerned departments, and staff.
On the occasion, Managing Director KMCH Tausif Ahmad said the walkthrough reflects the institution’s continuous efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and introduce modern, patient-centric services. He said KMCH is committed to providing accessible, affordable, and evidence-based healthcare while ensuring that patients receive quality treatment under one roof.
Executive Director Insha Qazi reiterated that KMCH is focused on building a healthcare ecosystem where quality treatment is accessible to every section of society without imposing a financial burden on patients. She said the upgradation of the Dentistry and Physiotherapy departments demonstrates the institution’s vision of combining clinical excellence with compassionate care.
The Department of Dentistry showcased its upgraded infrastructure and expanded range of dental services aimed at delivering comprehensive oral healthcare. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Syed Manzoor-ul-Haq Bukhari said the department has been strengthened with modern facilities to improve patient outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care.
He said the department is committed to preserving natural teeth, promoting preventive oral healthcare, and providing advanced restorative, periodontal, endodontic, prosthodontic, and surgical dental services. He added that the department aims to make quality oral healthcare accessible and affordable for every section of society.
In a significant step towards multidisciplinary healthcare, the Department of Dentistry has collaborated with the Department of Medicine to offer integrated Sleep Medicine services for the evaluation and management of sleep-related disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea.
Reaffirming the hospital’s vision of making quality healthcare accessible to all, the management has introduced highly affordable charges for dental services. The OPD consultation fee has been fixed at Rs 50.
The Department of Physiotherapy also showcased its facilities and rehabilitation services. Speaking on the occasion, Senior Physiotherapist Dr. Showkat Maqbool said the department provides comprehensive rehabilitation for patients suffering from orthopaedic, neurological, paediatric, and other musculoskeletal conditions along with emerging fields like sports injuries, OBG, geriatrics and palliative care.
He said the department focuses on restoring mobility, improving functional independence, relieving pain, and enhancing the overall quality of life through evidence-based rehabilitation programmes.
The hospital management reiterated its commitment to continuously upgrading healthcare infrastructure, strengthening clinical services, and expanding patient-centric care to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
