Shopian: Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, on Saturday visited Shopian and participated in the NALSA Samvad programme aimed at strengthening legal awareness and access to justice at the grassroots level.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and witnessed the participation of judicial officers, district administration officials, members of the legal fraternity, students, and representatives from various sections of society.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar said that Samvad Scheme is an important initiative aimed at strengthening access to justice and spreading legal awareness among the people. The objective is to ensure that every citizen, especially those from marginalized sections, is aware of their legal rights and the assistance available to them. I am pleased to see enthusiastic participation from students, civil society members and local residents in Shopian. Cultural programmes presented today reflect the rich heritage of Kashmir and serve as an effective medium for social awareness and public engagement.
The programme witnessed the participation of judicial officers, district administration officials, students, legal professionals and members of the public. The event was aimed at promoting legal awareness, access to justice and strengthening the connection between legal institutions and the community.
A number of cultural programmes were presented by students and local artists, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir. The performances received appreciation from the dignitaries and audience.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the commitment of legal services authorities to spreading legal awareness and ensuring justice for all.
