Pulwama, August 22: To encourage and support students in remote and rural areas, Amrit Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Kochhar Foundation, organised distribution programmes in Naristan, Gutroo and Lam areas of Tral, where school bags and stationery were distributed among deserving students.

During the programmes, several students were presented with school bags and stationery in recognition of their hard work, academic performance and achievements.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Amrit Charitable Trust, Dr. Harbakash Singh, said that the Trust, in collaboration with the Kochhar Foundation, distributes school bags and stationery among 1,500 students every year as part of its continued efforts to support education and encourage meritorious and deserving students.

He said that the organisations also identify deserving schools and provide one smart classroom every year to promote digital education in rural and remote areas.

Dr. Singh said that the Trust and the Foundation intend to increase the annual target of 1,500 school bags in the coming years so that more students can benefit from the initiative.

He further informed that two digital classrooms have already been established at Rathsuna and Lalpora in Tral, while two more digital classrooms will be provided—one at Guru Nanak Public School, Tral, and another in the Aripal area.

Officials from the Education Department were also present during the programmes and appreciated the initiative aimed at supporting students and strengthening educational infrastructure in underserved areas.
