By Salreen Kour
A compassionate woman, a passionate author and poetess, and a dedicated private teacher, Sarabjeet Kour is someone who finds comfort in writing and joy in reading.
For the past 15–16 years, she has been bleeding through metaphors. Through the eyes of a writer and an observant soul, she pens down her emotions with remarkable sensitivity and grace. Her words often transform ordinary experiences into reflections that carry depth, warmth, and emotion.
As a teacher, she is appreciated by her students not merely for teaching them to memorise chapters, but for teaching them values that extend far beyond the classroom. Her students are grateful for a teacher who teaches with patience, kindness, and understanding. She is known for her cooperative, kind, and helpful nature, qualities that make her not only a teacher but also a person her students can look up to.
A few days ago, she published her first book, Our Silent Pain—a beautiful reminder that learning, creating, and beginning something new have no age limit.
She is:
* A kind soul who bleeds metaphors.
* A compassionate one who articulates scars.
As a beautiful Urdu verse says: “Hazaaron log milte hain magar woh baat hoti hai, Jiska dil saaf ho uski alag hi zaat hoti hai.”
A HEARTFELT REVIEW OF OUR SILENT PAIN
Some books entertain you. Some books make you think. But there are a few books that make you feel. Our Silent Pain is one of those books. Reading this book was an unexpectedly emotional experience for me. I began reading it with simple curiosity, but somewhere between its pages, I found myself carrying the emotions of its stories with me. The book beautifully explores pain, relationships, loss, silence, resilience, and the emotions that people often keep hidden within themselves.
One piece that affected me especially deeply was “The Pain of Losing a Mother (A Daughter’s Silent Strength).” I genuinely cried while reading it.
The emotions felt so sincere that, for a moment, it didn’t feel as though I was simply reading someone else’s words. I could feel the grief, the love, the memories, and the emptiness within the story. It reminded me of how powerful a mother’s presence can be in a daughter’s life and how some kinds of love are so profound that even words struggle to contain them.
What I appreciate most about the book is its emotional honesty. The pain within these pages is not presented as something simple. It carries memories, love, longing, silence, and strength all at once. That is what makes the stories feel so human and relatable.
As someone who loves writing myself, I particularly admired the way writing becomes a space for emotions throughout the book. “Peace in Writing” especially resonated with me because writers often put into words what they cannot always express aloud. Sometimes, a page becomes the safest place for feelings to exist. Our Silent Pain reminded me why literature matters.
A writer does not always have to give a reader an answer. Sometimes, the greatest thing a writer can do is make someone pause, feel something deeply, and recognise a part of themselves within the words.
Sarabjeet Kour has created a book that carries its emotions beyond its pages. Some stories made me reflect, some made me emotional, and one literally brought me to tears. And perhaps that is one of the most beautiful signs that a book has done what it was meant to do… It has reached its reader’s heart.
Congratulations, Ma’am, on Our Silent Pain. 🤍📖 Your words have genuinely touched me, and I feel grateful that I got the opportunity to read them. Some books are finished when you reach the last page. Some stay with you. This one stayed. 🤍
Wishing you endless success, continued inspiration, and many more beautiful stories and poems in the years ahead.
