Kupwara, 15 Sept : Indian Army organised a Veterinary and Animal Rearing Camp in the Machil area along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, aimed at extending veterinary support and promoting better livestock management practices among local communities.
The camp witnessed participation from local livestock owners and residents, who availed veterinary services and guidance related to the health, treatment and proper care of their animals. Veterinary personnel examined livestock and provided necessary medical assistance, while also educating the community about preventive healthcare, nutrition and animal-rearing practices.
The initiative assumes particular significance in the remote and mountainous Machil region, where livestock remains an important source of livelihood for many families. By facilitating access to veterinary care and expert guidance, the camp seeks to contribute towards healthier livestock and improved livelihoods among border communities.
Local residents appreciated the Indian Army’s initiative and expressed gratitude for organising the camp in the area. They said such community-oriented programmes provide valuable support to people living in remote border villages.
