Srinagar, September 24, 2026: The Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) and its entire leadership extend heartfelt congratulations to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sh. Omar Abdullah Sahib, Hon’ble Minister for School Education, Miss Sakina Masood Itoo Madam, and all Hon’ble Members of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly for unanimously passing the resolution regarding the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).
Saleem Sagar, Chairman J&K Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC), said that the unanimous support extended by all Hon’ble MLAs reflects the collective concern of the elected representatives towards the genuine issues and aspirations of the teaching fraternity.
He said that the resolution also reflects the commitment given by the Hon’ble Chief Minister and Hon’ble Education Minister during the one-day Education Conference held at Srinagar and demonstrates their concern for the genuine issues being raised by teachers.
The Hon’ble Education Minister has rightly observed that teachers are capable of appearing in and qualifying any test. However, the issue, as understood by the teaching community, is not about the capability of teachers. It concerns the dignity, experience and professional status of teachers who have devoted years of their lives to educating children and contributing to nation-building.
JKTJAC places on record its sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Hon’ble Education Minister and all Hon’ble MLAs for unanimously acknowledging this important concern of the teaching fraternity and taking it forward through the Legislative Assembly.
Saleem Sagar said that the entire leadership of JKTJAC appreciates this collective and positive approach towards the genuine concerns of teachers and hopes that the matter will be taken to its logical conclusion in accordance with the applicable legal and constitutional framework.
