Pulwama, 29 September 2026: Cultural Show and National Anthem Singing Competition organized at 23 JKAP IR Lethpora, On the directions of Sh. Nitish Kumar, IPS, ADGP Armed, a Civic Action Programme was organised today by 23 JKAP IR at Lethpora under the overall supervision of Shri Gh. Hassan, JKPS (SP), Commanding Officer, 23 JKAP IR. The programme was themed on “Enumerating the Indian National Freedom Struggle,” with special focus on the pivotal role played by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in India’s freedom movement and the unification of the nation.
The event featured a Cultural Show and a National Anthem Singing Competition, and saw enthusiastic participation from schools and colleges across Pulwama, Tral, Awantipora, Lethpora, Budgam, Kishtwar, and other areas. Participants rendered the National Anthem with great devotion and patriotic fervour, both in groups and individually, creating an atmosphere charged with national pride. The cultural show further added colour to the event, with students presenting performances reflecting the spirit of India’s freedom struggle and its rich cultural heritage.
A total of 120 students from the following educational institutes performed on the stage: Govt. Degree College, Tral, Govt. Degree College (Boys), Pulwama, Govt. Higher Secondary School, Samboora, Govt. Boys High School, Barsoo, Firdousi English Medium School, Lethpora, Mantaqui Memorial Waqf Higher Secondary School, Awantipora, Upper Primary School, Jawbrara, Umer (R.A.) Memorial Institute, Awantipora, Birla Open Minds International School, Pampore, Govt. High School, Chandhara
In addition, seven participants from General Public also took part in the competition, showcasing enthusiasm beyond the participating institutions.
The performances were closely evaluated by a panel of three judges on the basis of devotion, presentation, and patriotic expression. Following keen competition, the top performers were felicitated with prizes:
1st Position: Mir Ashraf, R/o Chadoora, Budgam, 2nd Position: Ms. Charanjeet Kaur, R/o Chadoora, Budgam, 3rd Position: Birla Open Minds International School, Pampore.
The programme aimed at sensitising the youth about the glorious history of India’s freedom struggle and instilling among them a deep sense of respect and reverence for the National Anthem as a symbol of Unity and Pride. It also sought to inculcate a sense of patriotism, discipline, and civic responsibility among the participating students, while providing them a platform to display their talent and creativity.
Such Civic Action Programmes reflect the continued commitment of 23 JKAP IR towards strengthening ties with the local community and promoting peace, harmony, and national integration in the region. All the participants were awarded certificates, while the participating institutions were presented with mementos.
