Residents told that officials have failed to provide drinking water supply to this village for the past couple of years.

“We have been moving from pillar to post but authorities have failed to augment water supply. We are suffering in the absence of regular water supply for past couple of years,”  a local said.

“Due to the  hardships of water scarcity in our area, we have to take long distance routes twice in a day  to get pitchers of water in order to meet the basic requirements of cooking and drinking”, said a women Rafiqa Banoo.

Locals urged the concerned authorities to look into the issue so that they could heave a sigh of relief.

Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) PHE Division Qazigund, Rafiq Ahmad told that “I acknowledge that the Nawa village has been suffering from the acute shortage  of water. However efforts have been taken tirelessly to work on the JJM Scheme. We have already completed 90% work of it, but work was halted due to the hindrance of local dweller, now we have taken up matter with higher ups, I assure that within weeks it will be completed and water will be restored ,” he said
