Dr. Harbaksh Singh Meets Hon’ble LG at Jammu to Discuss Development Issues

Jammu, 30 Nov: Dr. Harbaksh Singh, the District Development Council (DDC) member for Tral and Chairman of the Standing Committee for Health and Education, held a productive meeting with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir in Jammu today. The discussion focused on a range of developmental issues crucial for the growth and welfare of Tral.

During the meeting, Dr. Singh raised several key demands for the region, “which were assured of being addressed by the LG.”

The major demands discussed include:

1. Tourism Development Authority for Tral: Establishment of a Tourism Development Authority for already designated tourist spots such as Shikargah, Panner Dam, Aripal, and Naristan to boost tourism.

2. Upgradation of Sub-District Hospital Tral: Upgrading the healthcare facilities at the Sub-District Hospital in Tral and the creation of additional posts to meet the growing demand.

3. Completion of Mini Secretariat: A request for the completion of the Mini Secretariat in Tral on a priority basis to improve administrative efficiency.

4. Establishment of Nursing/Paramedical College: The proposal to establish a Nursing and Paramedical College in Tral to enhance healthcare education in the region.

5. Rationalisation of Teachers: Dr. Singh highlighted the need for rationalizing the deployment of teachers, especially in rural schools.

6. Declaring Guphkar as Heritage Palace: A demand to declare Guphkar as a heritage palace and initiate development work on a priority basis.

7. Master Plan for Tral and Awantipora Towns: The creation of a comprehensive master plan for the development of both Tral and Awantipora towns.

8. Road Connectivity: Improvement of road connectivity, particularly the Pastuna-Wahab Sahab and Tral-Pahalgam roads.

9. Upliftment of Sports Infrastructure: A call for the enhancement of sports infrastructure along with the provision of adequate manpower.

10. Hockey/Football Turf Ground: The establishment of a modern hockey/football turf ground at Tral to promote sports among the youth.

11. Engagement of Youth through Industrialization: Dr. Singh also emphasized the need to engage the local youth through industrialization and by facilitating special recruitment drives in police and paramilitary forces.

The Hon’ble LG ‘assured’ Dr. Singh of his full support and ‘assured’ that these issues would be prioritized for the overall development of Tral.
