Tral, April 6: A devastating fire broke out at the Shah-i-Hamdan Darul Uloom in Tral, engulfing the entire building and causing extensive damage. Reports said that despite the tireless efforts of the Fire & Emergency Service, which worked relentlessly to contain the flames, the Darul Uloom was completely destroyed in the incident.
Tragically, one minor boy lost his life in the fire. The deceased has been identified as Yasir Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad, a resident of Karmulla Tral.
Six individuals were injured in the blaze and have been identified as follows: Majid Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad from Gulshanpora Tral, Ishfaq Ahmad, son of Mohd Ashraf, Mohammad Altaf, son of Masood Ahmad from Zardihard Tral, Irfan Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad from Batagund Tral, Javid Ahmad, son of Mohammad Yousuf from Gulshanpora Tral, and Nasir Ahmad, son of Abdullah from Doodmarg Tral.
The injured were promptly referred to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for further medical treatment. Sources said that authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which has left the whole sub district in shock and mourning.
