JKTF Expresses Gratitude to Hon’ble LG and Chief Minister, Seeks Consideration on HRA and CEA

Srinagar, 05 June 2025: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) has expressed sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha and Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Omar Abdullah, along with the Council of Ministers, for issuing the much-awaited order sanctioning a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA), effective from January 2025.

In a statement issued to the press, JKTF Chairman Mr. Showkat Ali Beigh lauded the government’s decision, stating that the timely DA hike will ease the financial burden on employees and help them navigate the challenges posed by persistent inflation.

While welcoming this move, the Chairman has humbly requested the Hon’ble LG to kindly consider the long-pending demand for enhancement of House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Children’s Education Allowance (CEA). He emphasized that addressing these genuine concerns would go a long way in ensuring the financial well-being and morale of government employees across the Union Territory.

JKTF remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of the teaching fraternity and hopes the administration will continue to respond positively to the just demands of its workforce (Press Release).
