Anantnag: The REHMAN MEHMOODA LIFELINE FOUNDATION (RMLF), in collaboration with GMC Anantnag and Amal Hospital organised a free medical camp today at Halpora, Kokernag, reaffirming its commitment to improving healthcare access in remote areas of South Kashmir.
The camp witnessed an encouraging response from local residents, who availed themselves of free medical consultations and medicines. The primary focus of the camp was on screening and managing chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and respiratory issues.
A dedicated team of doctors from Govt Medical College Anantnag conducted thorough check-ups, provided expert consultations, and prescribed appropriate treatments. Free medicines were distributed to the patients on the spot, ensuring immediate relief and care.
Several dignitaries, including the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), attended the camp and appreciated the initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Director, RMLF, Zia Darakshan said, “This camp was an opportunity to reach out to people who often lack access to quality healthcare. We are committed to continuing such community health outreach programs to bridge the healthcare gap in rural and underserved regions.”
Local resident, Bashir Ahmed, lauded the organisers for their impactful initiative. “Bringing essential health services to our doorstep is truly commendable. We hope such camps become a regular feature,” he added.
