Pulwama, August 25, 2025: A team of officials from the Labour Department Pulwama, led by the Assistant Labour Commissioner, today conducted an inspection-cum-awareness programme at AIIMS Site, Awantipora and Transit Camp, Lethpora. The team comprised the Labour Officer and Assistant Labour welfare officer Pulwama
The drive was aimed at educating workers about their rights and entitlements, as well as ensuring compliance with labour laws at both sites. During the programme, officials sensitized workers regarding various welfare schemes, including:
• Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)
• Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PMSYM)
• J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB) Schemes
The workers were informed about the benefits and provisions available to them under these schemes, particularly those related to social security, financial assistance, and insurance coverage.
The inspection also focused on verifying registration of establishments, timely payment of wages, prescribed working conditions, and extension of social security benefits to all workers engaged at the sites.
The Assistant Labour Commissioner emphasized the Labour Department’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of workers while also ensuring that employers fulfill their statutory obligations. Such initiatives, he stated, are a part of the department’s continuous efforts to promote awareness, welfare, and compliance in the labour sector.
