Kulgam: Today on 17th September 2025, on the Sewa-Parv program, the Department of Labour conducted a comprehensive inspection across key establishment units to ensure strict compliance with existing labour laws. Labour Officers/ Labour Inspector of this office reviewed working conditions, wage records, and safety measures to uphold workers’ rights and welfare. The inspection was followed by an awareness program aimed at educating employers and employees on legal obligations and entitlements. Interactive sessions highlighted topics such as minimum wage, working hours, and grievance redressal mechanisms. The department reaffirmed its commitment to regular inspections and community outreach. This program marks a significant step toward fostering transparency and fairness in the labour ecosystem.
In addition, death compensation of Rs. 205000 (Rupees Two Lac Five Thousand only) have been released in favour of one deceased registered worker at the program. On this very occasion beneficiaries registered under building and other construction workers Act have also been provided fair awareness so that they may get the benefits under various social security schemes. Moreover, registration of gig workershas also been initiated in the particular area.
