Pampore, 12 Nov: A two-day intensive Orientation Program for ECCE AAYAS (Early Childhood Care and Education Helpers) concluded at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Pampore, with a commitment to enhancing foundational learning across the Kashmir Division.
The program was meticulously organized by the FLN Cell of SCERT Kashmir Division in collaboration with UNICEF and the Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW). The primary objective was to professionalize the crucial role of Aayas as core members of the education system.
The orientation was formally inaugurated by Mr. R. C. Sharma, Principal DIET Pampore, who emphasized the strategic importance of early childhood education. Dignitaries including Dr. Roshan Ara welcomed the participants, and Dr. Mukhtar, District Nodal Officer, provided an overview of the workshop’s goals. The training was enriched by the special addresses from different officials who underscored the Aayas’ vital role.
Mr. Danish Aziz education specialist (UNICEF) spoke on the Aayas’ position as core members of the education hierarchy. Divisional nodal officer for FLN mission Dr. Sheikh Gulzar took stock of the proceedings and delivered a unique address on the role of Aayas in classroom management and the overall well-being of students.Mr. Altaf (HOD DIET Pampore) also shared valuable insights on the training’s execution and strategic importance.
The training modules, delivered by expert Master Resource Persons, focused on critical pillars of child development: Mtr. Sheenam Abrak covered the core Roles and Responsibilities of School Aayas; Parvaiz Ahmad Bhat deliberated on the Holistic Development of Children; Khanday Aashaq Hassan covered Child Health and Hygiene; and Mr. Arshid Hussain Mir focused on Emotional Well-being and its impact on ECCE. All sessions included practical activities to ensure skill internalization.
The successful event concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participants. Mr. Mohsin Hyder Ali, Coordinator of JKASW, delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging his momentous role in providing essential logistics and support. Special appreciation was also extended to the support staff, Mr. Ishfaq Ahmad and Mr. Muneer Ahmad Dar (MTS staff), for their tireless work during the two days.
