Tral, Kashmir (Press Release): Citizens’ Council Tral, led by its chairman Farooq Trali, has demanded the immediate release of Old Age pensions, which have not been disbursed for the past three months, causing severe hardship to elderly residents in the area.

Farooq Trali strongly appealed to the Social Welfare Minister, Ms. Sakina Itoo, to take urgent action and ensure that pension payments are resumed without further delay. According to Trali, the pension is the only source of income for many senior citizens, who rely on it to meet their daily needs, especially for medicines and medical treatment.

Trali said that despite repeated visits to CSC centres and Social Welfare Department offices, pensioners have not received any payment for the last three months. He added that many elderly citizens have already exhausted their limited savings on rent and essential expenses, leaving them in a state of financial distress and mental agony.

The Citizens’ Council has urged the government to take serious notice of the matter and ensure the prompt release of pending pensions so that senior citizens can live with dignity and relief.
