Ganderbal Police Rescue Kidnapped Minor Within an Hour, One Arrested

Ganderbal, Feb 1(SM): Ganderbal Police on Sunday rescued a minor boy within an hour of his reported kidnapping and arrested one accused in connection with the case, officials said.

A complaint was received at Police Station Lar stating that the complainant’s nephew (name withheld) had been kidnapped by unknown persons near his residence at Chanthan Gulabpora, Lar, at around 6:30 pm.

Police registered FIR No. 03/2026 under relevant sections of law and immediately launched an investigation. Acting on specific inputs, a special team was constituted to trace the minor.

The boy was recovered safely within an hour of the incident through coordinated efforts involving technical surveillance and ground-level investigation, officials said.

One accused, identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Teeli, son of Abdul Jabbar Teli, resident of Kurhama, was arrested during the operation. The vehicle allegedly used in the crime was also seized near Barsoo Chowk.

Further investigation is underway to identify and arrest other persons involved in the case, police said.
