Pulwama, Feb 3: The Khelo India Thang-Ta Centre at Tral, operating under the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, has delivered a commendable performance at the 69th National School Games held in New Delhi, with its trainees securing national medals and bringing pride to the Jammu & Kashmir.
Four young athletes from the centre showcased exceptional skill and discipline on the national stage. Sumaira Ashiq and Hammad Bashir clinched silver medals in their respective categories, while Masifa Mushtaq and Murtaza Iqbal Lone secured bronze medals.
Officials attributed the success to the sustained efforts and quality training imparted at the centre, along with strong institutional support. As statement issued to Srinagar Mail reads that, “The achievement was made possible under the guidance and encouragement of Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council; Anissa Nabi, Nodal Officer, Khelo India, JKSC; Javid-ul-Rehman, Divisional Sports Officer (Central), JKSC; and Nusrat Gazala, Divisional Sports Officer, Kashmir.”
Special appreciation was extended to Coach Sajjad Ahmad Dar of the Khelo India Thang-Ta Centre, Tral, for his dedicated coaching and mentorship, which played a crucial role in preparing the athletes for national-level competition.
