SRINAGAR, February 14, 2026: One World Aid Trust, a leading non-governmental organization dedicated to social welfare, successfully organized a specialized event today titled “Sanitary Pad Distribution cum Awareness.” The initiative specifically targeted nomadic families, providing them with essential menstrual hygiene products and vital health education.
The program was spearheaded by Tanzeela Mushtaq and Muniba Ashraf, who worked closely with the community to bridge the gap in menstrual health accessibility.
Tanzeela Mushtaq, Executive Member of the Trust, led the awareness session. She focused her address on the critical importance of hygiene and the proper usage of sanitary napkins.
“Our primary goal is to ensure that every woman, regardless of her socio-economic background or nomadic lifestyle, has the knowledge to protect her health. Proper hygiene isn’t just a choice; it’s a fundamental health necessity,” Mushtaq stated.
During the event, Faisal Bilal emphasized the need for a more empathetic and inclusive society. He urged the community to dismantle the stigma surrounding menstruation.
Bilal noted that since these are natural biological processes created by the Almighty, society should not shy away from discussing them.
He highlighted recent Supreme Court rulings that emphasize providing safe and private spaces for women, reinforcing that menstrual dignity is a matter of legal and human rights.
Irfan Ramzan, another Executive Member, reiterated the NGO’s commitment to an inclusive approach. “Education is the first step toward empowerment. By bringing this awareness to nomadic groups, we are ensuring that no one is left behind in our journey toward a healthier society,” Ramzan added.
Other members who joined were Mohammad Ather , Ovais Majeed, Manpreet Singh, Azan Bilal, Shahid Sofi.
On the occasion, hundreds of high-quality sanitary pads were provided to women and young girls.
