Ganderbal Apr 4(SM): Sudhanshu Dhama-IPS on Saturday assumed charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal.
He took over from outgoing SSP Khalil Ahmad Poswal-KPS during a formal handover ceremony at the district police headquarters.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officers and officials, marking a smooth transition of command in the district.
Soon after assuming charge, Dhama-IPS reviewed the functioning of the district police and held interactions with officers to assess the prevailing law and order situation.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining public order, ensuring effective policing, and strengthening police-public relations.(SM)
