Tral, June 28: A grand book release ceremony of “Aaina-e-Manshiyat”, authored by noted social activist and health expert Dr. Nisar Ahmad Bhat Trali, was held at Siddiqui Hall, Ikhlas Manzil, Sadar Bazar, Tral, on Saturday under the banner of Ikhlas Trust.
The event witnessed the participation of around 150 people from different walks of life. Former judge Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani attended as the chief guest, while IAS officer Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo presided over the function.
The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat in praise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Bhat Trali highlighted the objectives of his newly released book and expressed concern over the growing menace of drug abuse in society. He said that the younger generation is increasingly becoming vulnerable to substance abuse and stressed the need for collective awareness and preventive measures.
He emphasized that strengthening moral values, promoting education, and encouraging social responsibility are essential steps in protecting society from the dangers of drug addiction.
Former Director of Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar, Shabir Mujahid, in his address, said that drug abuse destroys health, families, and the future of individuals. He lauded Dr. Bhat’s social contributions and described him as a “one-man army” in the field of social service.
IAS officer Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo also praised Dr. Bhat’s academic and social work, stating that “Aaina-e-Manshiyat” would serve as an important resource in raising awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drugs.
Chief Guest Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani said that tackling drug abuse requires a collective effort and that families and society must actively support government initiatives to curb the growing threat.
The function concluded with participants and speakers appreciating the efforts of Dr. Nisar Ahmad Bhat Trali and Ikhlas Trust for organizing the event and promoting awareness against drug abuse.
