Ganderbal, July 5 : As thousands of pilgrims undertake the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, a parallel story of compassion and humanitarian service is unfolding along the Baltal axis of the Yatra route in Ganderbal district, where police personnel are extending assistance to devotees beyond their security responsibilities.

While maintaining a robust security grid for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the pilgrimage, personnel of Ganderbal Police are assisting elderly devotees, supporting those struggling along difficult stretches of the route, and offering timely help whenever the physically demanding journey becomes overwhelming.

For many senior citizens and physically exhausted pilgrims, every step towards the Holy Cave Shrine is a test of endurance. A reassuring hand from a police officer, assistance while negotiating steep and uneven terrain, and support during moments of fatigue have become a source of comfort and confidence, enabling many devotees to continue their sacred journey with renewed determination.

The humanitarian efforts of Ganderbal Police reflect a commitment that extends well beyond conventional policing.

Alongside ensuring the safety and security of thousands of pilgrims, police personnel are demonstrating that public service is equally defined by empathy, compassion, and a willingness to assist those in need.

“Serving with compassion, protecting with dedication,” Ganderbal Police said while highlighting the initiative, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring that every pilgrim feels safe, supported, and cared for throughout the Yatra.

As the annual pilgrimage continues through the majestic Himalayas, these quiet yet meaningful acts of kindness stand as a reminder that the spirit of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is sustained not only by faith and devotion but also by the selfless service of those who stand beside devotees in their moments of need, ensuring every journey is undertaken with safety, dignity, and hope.
