Ganderbal: In a resounding win for the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Omar Abdullah has emerged victorious in the Ganderbal constituency during the ongoing assembly elections. Abdullah secured 32,727 votes, defeating his closest rival, Bashir Ahmad Mir, who garnered 22,153 votes.
In his first statement to the media after the win, Omar Abdullah expressed gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their overwhelming support. “The mandate from Jammu Kashmir is a clear rejection of the BJP and its policies. Not just them, people have also rejected their proxies. We thank the people of Kashmir and Jammu who have given us a resounding victory,” Abdullah stated.
The victory is seen as a significant moment in J&K politics, as it highlights a decisive shift in the region’s political landscape.
